Portuguese Era

Divar Island
Mandovi river flows through Goa which drains into the Arabian sea right next to the Panjim. The river is beautiful and surrounded by a foliage of mangrove. And next to the sea, there is an Island which had historically been a very important part of Goa. This island is known to be as Divar. In konkani Divar means Small. Before the Island became an important symbol of Catholicism, it was an prominent Hindu pilgrimage center. Much before the present day Panjim became the heart of Goa and Divar was the capital of Goa.
There are 3 keys churches from which the most important of which is the Divar Church.

Portuguese houses
Once we go around the old Goa we got to see many Portuguese houses. These houses have the most beautiful colours and textures which attracts the people to do photography.
