Panjim church also known as Mary Immaculate Church or The Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church,Panjim,Goa, which was first built in 1541 as a Chapel by the Portuguese. The Church is painted in white colour. Its towers over the whole city of Panjim. The architecture is amazing and the interiors are also beautiful. It has the majestic look of the Immaculate and white facade, the Panjim Church is rooted in Goa's historic past and culture for more than four and half centuries. A large church bell installed in this church is the second largest in Goa. The decor inside the church is fairly colourful.

There are two other carved and decorated altars, which is also very attractive; the one to the left is Jesus and the other to the right is of the Our Lady of the Rosary. On the both sides there are two marbles statues, one of St.Peter and one of St.Paul. The decoration of the Our Lady of the
Immaculate Conception Church is simple, but still is amazing to the eyes because of its simplicity. And on the feast day masses are held throughout the day with the feast mass sometime in the morning. There is a 3 day fete where people from all walks of life to come to witness the sheer splendors of the church. TAMBDI SURLA TEMPLE

MAHADEV TEMPLE

The 12th  century Mahadev Temple Tambdi Surla in Goa is one of the famous Hindu Temples in the state. This temple is situated at Tambdi Surla, which is a small village in Goa. This Tambdi Surla Temple was built in the year 1271 by the Minister of Ramachandra who was the king of yadava.

I had once gone to Tambdi Surla with my family. The design of this temple is very good and attractive. This temple is made of grey basalt stone. The most interesting thing of this temple is that it is only specimen of the architecture of Kadamba-yadava. The main deity of the Tambdi Surla is Lord Shiva or Mahadev. The famous festival of Shri Mahadev Temple Tambdi Surla is Mahashivratri, which is celebrated with a great joy by the peoples of Goa.

In this temple there is large linga which is known as the symbol lord shiva. This temple is made in a style that the first sun ray falls on the deity of this temple.
When we went there,we saw a statue of Nandi who has no head in the statue. And this statue is located in the center of the Mandap. And there is also a river Surla which flows very near to Mahadev Temple.
Really Tambdi Surla is one of the wonderful temple which i have ever seen.

Reis Magos fort

I am feeling greatfull to write about my village Reis Magos. Reis Magos is a village located on the northern bank of the Mandovi river in Bardez Goa, opposite to the capital city of Goa. My village  is famous for two of Goa's famous structures; the Reis Magos Fort and the Reis Magos Church and   is considered as the first church in Bardez. And this fort has also become one of the famous tourist spot.
Reis Magos is the Portuguese word that stands for the Three Wise Men. I often go the fort with friends or with cousins as it is not far from my house.
Parking is available near the fort premises. To enter there is fee to visit the Fort i.e it charged a fee of Rs.50 each to to visit fort.Reis Magos seems to have a zig-zag journey to the entrance of the fort.
Fortification of Reis magos fort with Mandovi river in the background. The fort is made of chire. But if we go to see the Reis Magos is comparatively smaller than Aguada Fort. But Reis Magos offers a majestic view of the Mandovi River, the Reis Magos church and the its beautiful Surroundings. At Reis magos there is houses sketches and paintings on how Goa used to look in the 16th century. As this gives us a lot of information  on Goa and its development by the Portuguese. There is lots of artwork ,map and other exhibits can be seen at the basement level .From the top of the fort its an one of the beautiful view to see...the place is admirable and this place is also good to do photography. Many schools, Higher secondary brings their students for field trip on this fort because it gives us lots of information of Goa. Hence it is my one of the favourite Fort to chill with my friends.
